can I ask you a question...?

This past summer my cousin Savannah asked me a question that I have not been able to forget, so this week I took it upon myself to ask a few people in my life: would you rather have Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s life or die in the Hunger Games?

Ella Hobert

Ella: The Hunger Games.

A: Why?

Ella: I feel like I would feel more proud of my death. And I’d be fighting for my district. And as Gypsy Rose Blanchard, I’d be fighting for myself and I wouldn’t even know it- that I was fighting a battle. I would just be sitting there… sick… but not actually sick. But in the hunger games at least i’m there for a reason you know? I’m fighting for the greater good.

Big Al

Al: die in the hunger games. There’s still a sense of freedom there. Sounds like rose Blanchard you’re a prisoner.

Gracie A.

Gracie: I just generally like the hunger games so I’d rather go there and see what all the fuss is about.

Hayes B.

Hayes: Hunger games.

A: why?

Hayes: die with honor.

Malcolm (todd) Hobert

Malcolm: is gypsy rose still around?

a: yeah

M: and she broke free?

A: she broke free

M: i’d rather have gypsy rose Blanchard’s life. 

A: why?

M: because I don’t know how immediate my death would be in the hunger games and I just don’t wanna die by a stabbing. I also think my life would be longer in gypsy rose’s shoes so I’d also rather not die. There’s like a choice of life and death here.

A: that’s true, that’s true. 

M: so, gypsy rose.

Dad

Dad: ok. Do I have to answer before I see a picture of gypsy rose?

A: yeah.

Dad: but the hunger games is fictitious.

A: yeah but for this question it’s real.

D: ok. I’d rather die in the hunger games.

A: why?

D: because I don’t wanna live like that. The other way.

Charlie Ciuk

Charlie: because death is freedom and to be drugged is jail. Is to be captured. Held captive.

Charlie Addis

Charlie Addis: I think I’d rather die in the hunger games because it’s like super honorable and she [gypsy] is in prison right now google says. So I don’t really wanna be in gypsy rose’s shoes. But maybe being a secondary character in the hunger games, dying super nobly… maybe eat a poisonous berry… sounds nice. Sounds respectable.
